Hey claims title with first run

One run was all he needed for Mosgiel’s Chris Hey to win Class C (for 2L and above cars) at the Central Otago Motorsport Club’s Three Brothers Hill Climb in Roxburgh last weekend.

His Toyota MR220 blazed through thefirst run in 3 minutes 42.5 seconds before
being sidelined for the next two runs with mechanical issues. His time not only
netted him the class victory, but it was the fastest overall of the 28 drivers entered.

‘‘It was a magic piece of road,’’ Hey said of the event, which he thought was well organised.

Cromwell’s Simon Taylor won the 4WD class in his Subaru Impreza and was second overall in 3min 50.52sec.

Club secretary Matt Shand said there was good support for the event.

The next one on the calendar is the Conroy’s Rd gravel autocross on June 9 in
Alexandra.
