Sebastien Loeb wins Mexico Rally

Sebastien Loeb of France won the Mexico Rally on Sunday, his fourth victory in the race and the 55th of his career.

Loeb finished the three-day rally ahead of Petter Solberg of Norway and Sebastien Ogier, also from France. All three were driving Citroens.

The victory for the six-time defending series champion gives him a six-point lead at the top of the drivers standing ahead of Mikko Hirvonen. Hirvonen finished fourth on Sunday and Jari-Matti Latvala was fifth. Both of them were driving Fords.

The Frenchman built up a 50 second lead after two days and finished 24.2 seconds ahead of Solberg and 25.3 in front of Ogier. He was 1:47.5 quicker than Hirvonen and 2:15.1 ahead of Latvala.

Loeb has 43 points in the drivers standings, followed by Hirvonen on 37 and Latvala and Ogier with 25 each. Solberg has 20.
