Kiwi V8 driver Steven Richards has joined John McIntyre Racing.
Richards has made the move from Ford Performance Racing, and McIntyre said the Melbourne-based 39-year-old, a professional driver for almost 20 years and the winner of six V8 Supercar races, was the perfect fit for his team.
Richards will drive the team's second JMR FG Falcon. "With Steve we get this winning heritage plus his incredible ability and experience with a range of race cars. This will play a big part in helping JMR develop the best set-up for both race cars in the first season,'' said McIntyre.
Richards' first drive in a V8SuperTourer will take place today as the team begins a three-day test at their home circuit, the Taupo Motorsport Park.
He will race at the V8SuperTourer round at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park over the weekend of February 17-19.
